Carol Willett Obituary

Carol Bonita Willett (Marchiani), 80, of Muhlenberg Twp., passed away on July 4, 2022 at Penn State Health St. Joseph.

She was the wife of the late John “Jack” Claude Willett.

Born in Chester, PA she was the daughter of the late Enrico (Rick) and Anna Maria (Curtis) Marchiani.

Carol was a graduate of Smedley High School. She went on to become an interior decorator, establishing her own firm, Carol’s Creative Works, where she worked for many years. Carol also spent many years as a caregiver to her family, providing care to her mother, In-law, and son. In later years she enjoyed painting, doll collecting, antiquing, sewing, crafts, attending casinos, and watching television, most notably true crime detective shows and country western shows, including James Arness and Gunsmoke. She will be remembered for her great love and enjoyment of playing Santa Claus at local nursing homes and children’s hospitals.

She was predeceased by her children: Martin J. Marchiani and Henry R. Ryan, sisters: Anne Marie Radicioni and Mary Maniscalco, brothers: Henry and Joseph Marchiani, and grandson: Sean Ryan.

She is survived by her children: Anne Marie Willett of Muhlenberg Twp, John C. Willett, husband of Emmie of Springtown, TX, and Kevin R. Ryan of Shavertown. Also surviving are grandchildren: James B. Walker, husband of Meredith, Jeremy K. Willett, husband of Amanda, Michael E. Catanzaro, Jarryd R. Jaroszenski-Willett, and Beth A., Crystal M., Amy L., and Jonathan S. Marchiani, Jason, Megan, Christian, Valarie, and Michael Ryan, and Christopher, Emma and Ryan Willett.

Great-grandchildren: Scarlett, Skyler, Idella, Abraham, and Kyle, brothers: Robert Marchiani, husband of Mary of Colorado Spring, CO and Harry Marchiani of Kutztown.

Funeral Services will be held at Bednar Funeral Home, 2910 Pricetown Road, Reading, on Saturday, July 16, 2022 at 11:30AM. The family will receive friends and relatives from 10-11:30AM.
