Thomas P. Egan

Thomas Paul Egan, 43, devoted husband, father, and son, of Bern Twp., passed away unexpectedly on September 3, 2026.

Tom was the loving husband of Stephanie H. (Hartman) Egan. Together they celebrated 12 wonderful years of marriage.

Born in West Reading, he was the loving son of Dale C. Egan and Sherrie A. (Hirshland) Egan.

Thomas graduated with honors from Schuylkill Valley High School in 2001 and went on to graduate cum laude from Virginia Tech in 2006 with a Bachelor of Architecture. Tom was employed by Synergetics of West Reading, later working for STV Group. For the last 13 years,Tom was employed in various capacities for the Egan Family Businesses. He was a member of the Planning Commission for Bern Twp., and a member of Mt. Pleasant Fire Company. Thomas will be greatly missed and will be remembered for the time he enjoyed spending with his loving children and family.

Tom is survived by his wife, Stephanie H. Egan, daughter, Evelyn Violet Egan, and son, Ethan Thomas Egan, his parents, Dale C. Egan and Sherrie A. Egan, his twin brother, Timothy Dale Egan, husband of Danielle, and their children, Robert and Walter Egan, and his brother, Andrew Christopher Egan, husband of Shannon, and their children Primrose and Calvin Egan all of Bern Township.

A Funeral Service to celebrate and honor Tom’s life will be held at Bednar Funeral Home, 2910 Pricetown Road, Reading (Alsace Twp.) on Saturday, September, 12, 2026 at 11:00AM. The family will receive friends and relatives from 9:30-11:00AM. The interment will follow the service at Bern Church Cemetery.
