R. Craig Steinwedel
Richard Craig Steinwedel, 76, of Cumru Twp., passed away on July 10, 2025 at his residence.
He was the husband of Patricia (McIlvaine) Steinwedel. Together, they celebrated 45 years of
marriage.
Born in Glen Ridge, NJ, he was the son of the late Charles D. and Virginia M. (McDonald)
Steinwedel.
Craig was a 1967 graduate of Governor Mifflin High School. He went on to attend the University
of Virginia, where he became a member of Sigma Nu Fraternity and graduated with a bachelor's
degree in Economics in 1971. He then attended Wake Forest University where he received a
MBA in 1974. After college, Craig went on to work a successful career for 36 years as a Sales
Manager with IBM, retiring in 2011. Over the years, Craig was heavily involved in Governor
Mifflin Wrestling. In High School, he was Co-Captain of the wrestling team and in later years he
was a helper coach and tournament director. Craig also volunteered his time to The Children's
Home of Reading, where he served as the Treasurer and later became Chairman of the Board.
He will be remembered for his great love of skiing, fishing, and spending time with friends and
family at the pool.
In addition to his wife, Patricia Steinwedel, he is survived by his sister: Judie S. Jolly, wife of
Tom of Alexandria, VA and daughter: Christine E. Edwards, wife of Darian of Vienna, VA, who
are expecting the arrival of Craig's first grandchild in August.
Funeral Services will be held at Park Road Presbyterian Church, 1045 N. Park Road,
Wyomissing, on Saturday, July 19, 2025 at 12:00PM. The family will receive friends and
relatives at church from 11-12:00PM.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to The Children's Home of Reading.
