Doris Murray Obituary Doris A. Murray, 88, formerly of Alsace Twp., passed away on August 2, 2024 at Laurel Center of Hamburg. She was the spouse of the late Vernon L. Murray, who passed away on March 28, 2019. Together they celebrated 63 years of marriage. Born in Reading, she was the daughter of the late Charles L. and Helen A. (Huyett) Guigley. Doris was employed as a housekeeper for The Reading Hospital for 26 years. She was a member of Pretzel City Trekkers as well as a local Girl Scout Leader. She enjoyed playing bingo, attending the casino, gardening, and hiking. She will be remembered for the time she enjoyed spending with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. In addition to her husband, Vernon, she was predeceased by her brother: Albert L. Guigley. She is survived by her Children: Debra A. Adam, wife of Roy of Shoemakersville and Terry L. McCormick, fianc of Hans Roessler of Bloomsbury, NJ. Also surviving are her grandchildren: Jason Althouse, husband of Avery, Terrilyn Althouse, fianc of Mike Taucci, Dr. Alex McCormick, husband of Dr. Megan Rogers-McCormick, Lauren Stevens, fianc of Nickolas Keller, Corrinne McCormick, fianc of Bryan Nguyen, Tyler McCormick, and Zoey Adam; 13 great-grandchildren; brothers: Douglass Guigley, husband of Jean of Mohnton and Barry P. Guigley of Cumru Twp. Funeral Services will be held at Bednar Funeral Home, 2910 Pricetown Road, Temple (Alsace Twp), on Friday, August 9, 2024 at 11:00AM. The family will receive friends and relatives on Thursday, August 8, 2024 from 6-8:00PM and Friday from 10-11:00AM. The Interment will follow the service at Berks County Memorial Gardens.
