David Mengel, Sr. Obituary David W. Mengel, Sr., 76, of Reading, passed away on January 11, 2023 at ProMedica Sinking Spring. Born in Reading, he was the son of the late Wilbert S. and Thelma R. (Schell) Mengel. David was employed as a truck driver for his entire career, working in the transportation industry for over 40 years, where he was known on the CB Airways as The Big Casino. He is survived by his life partner: Grace A. Witters of Reading, Children: Wayne (lastname), David M. Mengel, Jr. of Newnan, GA, James W. Mengel of Stockbridge, GA. Susan R. Canavan of Mcdonough, GA, Deborah L. Cartherm of Jefferson, GA, and step-daughter: Mary L. Shafer of Oley and Vikie Seyfert of Fleetwood . Also surviving are grandchildren:Michael, Tyler, Jacob, and Alexander Canavan, Kelly Carrie, Katelyn, Brooklyn, Debroah and David Mengel; great-grandchildren: Matthew, John, Noah, Lucy, and Stacy Canavan, Step-grandchildren: Larry H. Shafer, Jr., Holly M. Colgan, Travis, Dwight, Bret, Shawn Shafer, Jessica Weber, Kristi Rahn, and Justin Rahn. 18 step great-grandchildren.
