Barry C. Carl

Barry C. Carl, 51, of Alsace Twp., a beloved son, devoted husband, caring and supportive father, and loving Dido, passed away peacefully on April 15, 2024, at home.

Born in Reading, he was the son of Barry R. and Irene (Makara) Carl.  Barry graduated from Reading High School in 1990 and Lincoln Technical Institute in 1993.  Barry was driven and passionate about his career and over 25 years of being employed with Johnson Controls, excelled in every aspect and became an Engineering Manager, where he enjoyed mentoring and sharing his experience and knowledge.  

He was the husband of Lois R.(Knappenberger) Carl. Together they celebrated 19 years of marriage. In addition to his wife and parents, he is survived by his greatest accomplishments daughter Mary, son Evan, and bonus daughter Kayla Oxenreider, wife of Brandon of Mohnton. Also surviving are his grandchildren: Alex and Liam Oxenreider, his brother: Kristopher B. Carl, and many more loving family members and friends.

Barry was an avid fisherman, he loved to spend his time on the saltwater in Delaware fishing with friends and family.  Barry was an active volunteer on his children's swim teams officiating meets. During his High School years, Barry was a talented and memorable Baseball Pitcher. He played for Rising Sun, Reading American, and Reading Bull.  He continued to play hardball, and volleyball into his 30s. He was a lifelong Dallas Cowboys fan and will always be remembered for his love of sports and fishing. 

Memorial Services will be held at Bednar Funeral Home, 2910 Pricetown Road, Temple (Alsace Twp), on Saturday, May 11, 2024, at 3:00 PM. The family will receive friends from 1-3:00 PM.
